Dr. Gregg Fonarow presented American Heart Associations’s Gold Heart Award
The Interim Chief of UCLA’s Division of Cardiology recognized with the AHA’s highest volunteer honor
Dr. Gregg Fonarow, Interim Chief of UCLA's Division of Cardiology, Director of the Ahmanson-UCLA Cardiomyopathy Center, and Co-director of UCLA's Preventative Cardiology Program, has been named a 2022 recipient of the American Heart Association’s Gold Heart Award recognizing his advocacy and leadership in quality improvement initiatives for cardiovascular disease care.
For over two decades, Fonarow developed and supported the Get With The Guidelines registry and performance improvement program which provides over 2,000 hospitals with evidence-based recommendations for improving stroke care. More than 5 million patients records have been entered in the program since its launch in 2003.
