Unfamiliar Diagnosis

UCLA Health article

I was referred by my internist Dr. Elizabeth Ko to Dr. Masha Lihvits for a consult regarding high Calcium counts. The results showed the need to remove a parathyroid gland. This diagnosis was unfamiliar to me, but after my initial visit with Dr. Lihvits, I was comfortable and confident that it would be a quick and easy surgery. She was very thorough and detailed in explaining the process. The surgery was performed at UCLA Santa Monica and it was an excellent experience - the staff was outstanding. Dr. Lihvits took the time to make sure I understood every step and helped me feel very comfortable approaching this unknown procedure.
