UCLA for Life

“I broke my wrist in high school, playing baseball. When I was getting my x-rays, I thought, ‘This is something I could see myself doing,’” says Nicholas Tonkinson, a medical assistant and x-ray tech at UCLA Health Malibu. “We have a full, state-of-the-art x-ray room. It’s awesome. A lot of patients think it’s rare, and it definitely helps them to get something done here instead of going to another location. If I can make the patient feel better than when they walked in, then I’ve done my job. My mom and my aunt worked for UCLA Health, so working here has always been a dream of mine. I hope to be here for the entirety of my career because our staff is amazing, the doctors are incredible, and we have the best view.”
