My Experience Battling Cancer

I had a lump on the right side of my neck. My primary care physician made an appointment for me with an endocrinologist in Orange County. A biopsy was done and I was told that it was cancer and that it did not look good. We needed to move quickly. The endocrinologist had just been to a conference where Dr. Livhits spoke. The doctors spoke and a visit with Dr. Livhits was scheduled. I went through the pre-screenings and surgery was scheduled. I spent one night in the hospital. Then appointments were made with Dr. Wong for chemotherapy and Dr. Chin for radiology. They told me the treatment would be fast and aggressive. I had 3 weeks of radiation and chemotherapy once a week. I felt fine all the way through it unt il the end when it hit me like a sledgehammer. My taste was gone and my appetite was gone- I lost weight. Right before Christmas, I was told my calcium level was very low. I had not noticed a difference except for a slight tingling sensation. But it was serious enough that I had to spend 3-4 days in the hospital. Now I am feeling fine and gaining weight. Its just a question of keeping my medications in order. Dr. Livhits told me on my check up today that she did not see anything except for the scarring from the radiation. I am feeling real good and I would recommend those 3 doctors. They were extremely nice to me and prioritized my care.
