Back to Doing What They Love

“After a patient has a cardiovascular event, I really advocate that they try to resume the activities they enjoy and the things they have a passion for,” says Dr. Samuel Daneshvar, director of preventative cardiology and clinical cardiologist at UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica. “The UCLA Health Ornish Lifestyle Program gives our patients the confidence to know they can pursue those activities, spend time with their family and enjoy the physical activities they enjoy after a heart attack. In the program, they participate in supervised exercise and are involved with a group of patients who have had similar experiences. It really boosts my patients’ confidence that they can get back to doing what they love.”
