“We’re really excited about the ‘magic hour’ our midwife will be helping us create right after I give birth,” says Natalie Smith, who is expecting her first baby in October. “Barring any unforeseen circumstances, once our midwife delivers the baby, she’ll step back so we can have some intimate, uninterrupted [...]
“I was so impressed by the midwives who took care of me when I was having my children that I decided sitting with women in labor and helping them give birth would be a lovely career,” says Elizabeth Keit, a certified nurse midwife at UCLA Health. “I want to give [...]
A little background: our first child was almost 11 lbs at birth, so with my second pregnancy, I was getting a lot of questions and pressure for extra tests in Illinois where we had been living before moving to LA.
My husband and I have a tiny daughter named Eleanor. We were all fortunate enough to begin this journey on the best possible note, in the extraordinary hands (both literally and figuratively) of the UCLA midwives.
I would highly recommend going to the midwives at UCLA, they are confident and competent in giving you your best chance at success.
I want to thank you for helping bring my little angel into this world. I had such a great experience with you Susan during my delivery.
We loved the care we received from the midwife group throughout my pregnancy. But Ann deserves special mention for her assistance during labor. She was fantastic, supportive, instructive and really made the natural birth experience possible.
I was only able to see the midwives for the end of my pregnancy and birth, but I had a fabulous experience. Their philosophy was exactly what I was looking for - laid back and non-invasive. I was able to have the birth experience I wanted, and I am confident that was due in part to being under their care, I am looking forward to working with them for my next pregnancy!
I would recommend the UCLA midwives to anyone who is pursuing a safe and fulfilling birthing experience.
