We knew something was wrong when I saw visible nodules in my neck. I came in to the clinic not wanting surgery and I told Dr. Yeh the moment I stepped into the office. The idea of surgery and a scar on my neck was not something I wanted, so when I first got my diagnosis of papillary thyroid carcinoma, I remember being taken aback and resistant to the idea of surgery. I cried through the entire process and was very stressed out. The staff did their best to put me at ease and were very supportive every step of the way. Looking back, there’s no way to make this process less scary, but being surrounded by individuals who are kind makes all the difference.
The whole process was very streamlined and to the point – they got me in and out in an efficient and kind manner. They were very flexible with scheduling and accommodated my work schedule. The whole process from diagnosis to surgery was only 6 weeks, and everything went smoothly.
