Join via ZOOM or in-person
Dr. Steve Horvath is the Founding Principal Investigator at Altos Labs, where he leads multidisciplinary teams focused on understanding the biology of aging and developing approaches to promote healthy aging. He previously served as a tenured Professor of Human Genetics and Biostatistics at UCLA and is widely recognized for his foundational contributions to aging research.
Dr. Horvath is best known for developing epigenetic clocks, quantitative tools that measure biological aging, as well as for creating widely used systems biology methods, including Weighted Gene Co-expression Network Analysis (WGCNA). His work has been adopted across academic, clinical, and industry research settings and has influenced the study of aging, longevity, and age-related disease.
Dr. Horvath has authored more than 450 peer-reviewed publications and has received numerous honors, including the Nathan W. Shock Award from the National Institute on Aging, election as a Fellow of the American Statistical Association, and multiple lifetime achievement recognitions for his contributions to aging research.
In this event, Dr. Horvath will present “Epigenetic Clocks and the Quantification of Biological Aging: Mechanisms and Clinical Translation."
