Free After Years

By JJoe uclaendocrineblogger1

I was referred from my thyroid doctor to Dr. Yeh. I actually did my own research and saw all his wonderful reviews, and I also had friends who were his patients so I came in knowing that he was one of the best. I had thyroid nodules that were growing which caused my goiter to […]

From NF to Adrenals

By JJoe uclaendocrineblogger1

I was to start off by saying that I began my care with UCLA for treatment for Neurofibromatosis (NF) Type 1. My doctor at UCLA ordered a MRI which also showed a tumor growth on my adrenal glands, and was referred to Dr. Livhits. My 24 hour urine test also came back with numbers that […]

Thyroid Surgery

By Byrnsi miszm68

I had nodules that turned out to be cancer on the right side of thyroid. My endocrinologist suggested that I have the whole thyroid removed as a cautionary measure. Dr. Livhits said she would just take half of it out, why have more out when there isn’t anything suspicious on the left side. i was […]

Not a big deal

By Byrnsi miszm68

Thank god for Dr. Barbara Geisser at UCLA neurology who called to say on your MS MRI, “It appears that you have these nodules that I am sure you know about and are being followed.” I said, “I sure am not and don’t know about them.” Dr. Geisser said she would make a referral for […]

Yay for Dr. Yeh

By Red hgs3

Dr. Kim from UCLA noticed that my wife’s calcium levels were a little high. She was found to have parathyroidism through a blood test and the target was visually located through Ultrasound. We had an appointment with Dr. Yeh and decided to proceed with surgery. From the patient’s perspective, it was a very simple and […]

Avocado Sized Lump

By uclahealth uclahealth

“I was having trouble swallowing small bits of food and I would have to wash it down with water,” says 89-year-old Mariem Emmer, who sought out endocrinologist Dr. Michael Yeh at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center for surgery. “I was seeing another endocrinologist and he knew about the lump in my throat, but said he […]

From Apprehensive to Appreciative

By Jenny binchen91733

The lump in my neck was first discovered when I was getting a facial. After bringing this up with my PCP, I got an Ultrasound and a biopsy done on this nodule, which came back for thyroid cancer. Hearing the word cancer shakes you, especially when my biopsy results predicted an almost 100% likelihood of […]

Overcoming the Grave

By Blue laniahamerie

I was 9 years old when I was diagnosed with Graves’ Disease. My mom and aunt first noted physical changes when I was visiting my grandma in Arkansas. They noticed that my eyes were bulging, my throat was getting swollen, and that I wasn’t acting like myself. Knowing that something was wrong, we decided to […]
