The UCLA COMET Program has been an incredible blessing in my life. I have struggled with my weight during my entire life. Like many, I tried multiple diets. I would lose weight, but then regain it and more. I was referred by my physician to COMET because my prospects for a long and heathy life were dire. I have two young sons and I wanted to do everything I could to be there for them. (I lost my father at a young age.) It is impossible to describe the incredible positive changes that I have experienced. At my heaviest, I weighed 380 lbs. Now, my weight fluctuates between 220 - 230 lbs.
The physical benefits, energy, increased level of activity, reduction in back pain, etc., are phenomenal. Most importantly, it has changed my entire perspective and approach to life. I have a much more positive outlook and relish every day opportunities to make positive contributions. Dr. Chen and the staff at COMET are a God send. The only regret I have is that I did not have surgery sooner.
