Open Your Heart to Healing

“The miracle of animals finding purpose and people finding healing is nothing short of a miracle,” believes Ellie Laks, founder of Gentle Barn and speaker during the People-Animal Connection luncheon. “After sitting here for the last two hours and hearing their stories, I feel so touched and honored to be here. We help facilitate the interaction between our animals and the people who need them. Then, the animals take it from there. The animals know when people need them and why people need them. I’m so grateful for the People-Animal Connection for doing such incredible, important work at UCLA Health for these patients. The healing, the love, and the connection found when you look into an animal’s eyes and open your heart to them is astounding.”
