Caring for Whole Family

“My baby is two months old, and he’s been here since he was born,” says Laporsha Manning. Laporsha came with her family to the annual UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital holiday party. “He’s in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit right now. He has a congenital diaphragmatic hernia, so he had to have a couple of surgeries to get his organs back in place. He’s almost ready to come home. We feel like he’s in good hands. Events like this make me feel good because they care about the family of the patient. UCLA Health is awesome. The kids are having a good time. We love it.”
