"I’m happy I went through with it." —Ashley
I’ve always been overweight but active growing up. We always ate fast food. In college, I stopped playing sports but kept eating the same way. I wanted to lose weight and told myself I could do it on my own. I was afraid of surgery but I saw my mom do the surgery and how well she was doing. Even after every conversation, I was very scared but I looked at the end goal.
I had surgery and the weight started falling off. When I was able to start working out, the weight continued to fall off which kept up the momentum. Before I used to crave fast food and now I want actual food. Being a year out, I’m happy I went through with it. I am proud of my progress and how far I’ve come. This is a tool and not the easy way out.
