Revision Bi-Lateral Hernia Surgery with Mesh Removal
I had revision bi-lateral hernia surgery with mesh removal performed by Dr. David Chen at UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica, in February 2019 with an overnight stay. The entire experience from Admissions through discharge was excellent. I cannot give enough praise to everyone who was part of my care, including the exceptional work of Dr. Chen who flawlessly performed what turned out to be a long and difficult surgery. Thank you all very much!

JoeC – How did the mesh removal recovery workout?
I'm also excited to know how it went. I've heard nothing but good things about Dr. Chen
Recovery went very well. I had some mild abdominal discomfort and tenderness around the incision port site where the mesh was pulled through for about 3 months which Dr. Chen had told me to expect due to the extensive amount adhesions and mesh removal involved in my case. Now doing great! Dr. Chen really is the best!!
Thank you Joe for your response. So very happy for you and wish you the best recovery possible. I may be going through the same procedure with Dr. Chen.
Did Dr.Chen repair with additional mesh or natural membrane ?
If possible I would love to talk to you in more detail by phone if your OK with that.
Thank You so much,
Steve

@joecristina did Dr Chen perform triple neurectomy ?
Did he also place a lap mesh with the revision or was it an open revision ? How are you doing 6 month post op?
I did not have a triple neurectomy. I had a lap bi-lateral hernia repair with old mesh removal and new mesh put in place. I am doing very well nine months out. However, I do now have a cord lipoma in my left groin that I am scheduled to have removed by Dr. Chen in an open procedure in March.
