Data Says a Lot

By uclahealth

“I’ve seen people who have been volunteering here for 10 and 12 years, and that says a lot about an organization and how it treats its volunteers,” says Sary Nguyen, an administrative intern in the volunteer office at UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica. “I don’t work with patients directly, but I manage all the volunteer data behind it. I make sure volunteers are compliant with their health records and that they have their hours in.

I originally came in purely as data management, but because of my background in legislation and interest in public health, I give recommendations as well. My manager believes that leadership comes from helping everyone prosper and that it’s all about the program. UCLA Health is a leading organization for health and technology. I really enjoy the fact that they strive for social change as well as caring for patients.”
