Asthma Not Keeping Him Off the Court
“I had a hard time keeping up or playing basketball, I was limited a lot by asthma,” says 18-year-old Cyrus Johnson, a senior in high school who came to the pulmonary clinic at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. “I’ve been dealing with asthma since I was 4 or 5 years old. Right now I’m on a daily medication I take two times per day, and I will take medication before workouts. That usually helps my breathing a lot so I’m able to participate. I feel like I can keep up now and that my breathing and lung capacity is a lot better. I feel like Dr. Sande Okelo really cares about getting me better.”
