Great Experience with Dr. Lihvits

By Eva

If I had to describe my experience having my parathyroid removed in 2 words, I would say it was positive and seamless. Patients only see one side of the process - they are informed how things are going to happen. But, when you go behind the scenes, you can tell that there's a lot of policy and protocols that lead to this seamless organization. At UCLA Santa Monica, the staff dedicated so much attention to ensure that we were well informed throughout the entire process, which reduced a lot of the anxiety. Whenever the doctors and nurses switched around, they introduced themselves to us. It helps us understand when things are going to happen.
Dr. Lihvits has amazing bedside manners and explains everything in a simple and understandable way. She is calm, and this transfers onto the patient. Speaking with her, I feel very confident when we talk to her, and based on her surgical experience I can she is extremely experienced.
