Surprise Diagnosis
My GP felt my neck at a routine physical and thought it felt a little thick. I had a biopsy done and the results were benign. However, I had to have the left thyroid removed because it was so enlarged. After the surgery they found thyroid cancer in a lymph node. Dr. Livhits called me within three days of the surgery and squeezed me in the next day for immediate removal of the right thyroid. She was very attentive, answered all of my questions and my family's questions, and was very thorough with follow up calls and instructions. She also set forth an action plan for follow up care in the future. For a difficult and unexpected situation, Dr. Livhits and UCLA made the experience as good as it could be. I felt like I was in very good hands with Dr. Livhits and highly recommend her.

I am dealing with prostate cancer. I have a Gleason score of 8, which I understand makes me high-risk. I am undergoing hormone therapy, and brachytherapy is pending. Any wisdom you can share about this or advances in prostate cancer treatment would be greatly appreciated.
