FeFe’s Experiences
I was diagnosed to have parathyroidism (with higher than normal Calcium levels) through a routine blood test 5 years ago and put off treatment for a while. However, after being notified that further delay in treatment could potentially worsen symptoms of osteoporosis, I decided to go in for the surgery. Dr. Lihvits took out both my parathyroid glands out on my right side. I love UCLA, I was born in in this hospital and raised around this area along with my brothers and sisters. The attention and personal care you receive is outstanding - when you come in, people call you by your name and they create a friendly atmosphere. They were very informative, making sure not to leave any information out. It was comforting going into the procedure being equipped with full knowledge of what was going to happen.
