Graves Disease
Around 3 years ago, I was diagnosed with graves disease and I figured I need to go to the doctor because my eyes and my neck were swollen. Ive had it for 3 and a half years and at first the doctors just gave me medicine but it wasn’t working and there was a bunch of up and downs. There were high doses and low doses and eventually we had to move, and there were a bunch emotions going through my mind. This prevented me from being efficient in school. I moved to California and the stress added on, and after that, I was still on the medicine and we decided to try another method. We went to the doctor to see if there were other treatments, which was radiation iodine treatment. We wanted to try it and they gave me a supplement for it. My thyroid gland was too big for the medicine at the time. The only other option was surgery, and the surgery was the last choice. When we figured that out it was a pretty big deal. The surgery helped a lot and it made a big impact on my life and everything’s finally gone back to normal and I feel really good right now!
