Nancy Fukumoto“The cardiac department is such a close team. I enjoy coming to work because we have such camaraderie,” says Nancy Fukumoto, a cardiology operating room nurse at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center who went to nursing school at UCLA and has stayed a Bruin for over 20 years. “You always think heart disease isn’t going to happen to you, but it just sneaks up on you. You have to look at yourself and say, ‘OK, I’ve got to take better care,’ and then actually do it.”
