Re-born

By cyn1mike

After many days being rushed to the emergency room because of complications with my breathing, I was recommended for lung transplant at the UCLA medical center. My first visit was profound, the doctor listened intensively and also provided me with the pros and cons of the surgery. My conditions was such that the doctors would not agree to the transplant unless I had improved a little from my dilapidated state. Finally, the doctor whom I first met along with the lung transplant coordinators, pushed for me to get the much needed transplant. Finally, I received my transplant on 1/28/2010. I was later told by my doctor that my condition was such that they almost lost me when a donor matched came in. It has now been three years, although I have had rejection, infections, virus, and other medical conditions during those times, I am still here today enjoying my new lungs. Thanks to the medical staff of UCLA.
